Appointments

We use the appointment system to better serve our clients and reduce waiting time. Emergency patients will receive medical attention right away with the scheduled appointments resuming shortly after the emergency has been stabilized. Walk-ins are only accepted on a basis of availability and will typically be asked to schedule an appointment.

Cancellation of an appointment: In order to be respectful of our staff and the medical needs of other pets, please be courteous and call our office promptly if you are unable to show up for any appointment. This time will be reallocated to another pet who is in need of treatment. If it is necessary to cancel your scheduled appointment, we require that you call at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will allow another patient to receive timely veterinary care.

If you don’t reach a receptionist, you may send us a Vello text or leave a detailed message on our voice mail. If you would like to reschedule your appointment, please leave your name and phone number. We will return your call promptly

Late Cancellations: A cancellation is considered to be late when the appointment is cancelled without a 24-hour advance notice.

Appointment “No Show”/Late Policy: A “no-show” is a client who misses an appointment without cancelling it. A failure to be present at the time of a scheduled appointment will be recorded in the client’s chart as a “no-show”. This includes arriving 15 minutes after your scheduled appointment. If you arrive late to your appointment the receptionist will see if we are still able to see your pet that day. If we are not, we will ask you to reschedule your appointment. Be mindful that our appointments are scheduled right after one another and because of this the doctor may not have time to give your pet the full exam and care it needs before the next appointment arrives.

Fees:

Late arrivals at appointments past fifteen minutes are subject to a fee of $15.

For “no shows” or late cancellations of appointments, the first occurrence will offer to reschedule the appointment at no additional fee.  A 2nd occurrence will result in you being charged the cost of an office call of $70 AND you will be required to pay for an office call of $70 before being able to schedule future appointments (if this occurs, the office call fee will be deducted from your total as long as you keep that appointment, otherwise it is non-refundable if you “no-show” your appointment). If there is a 3rd occurrence you will be discharged from the practice.

A surgery “no-show” is a client who missed a surgery appointment without providing a 24-hour notice of cancellation.

The first time this occurs we will call to offer to reschedule the appointment. A 2nd occurrence will result in you being charged a missed appointment fee of $100 AND you will be required to pay a $100 fee before being able to schedule future anesthetic/surgical procedures. If this occurs, the missed appointment fee will be deducted from your total as long as you keep that appointment, otherwise it is non-refundable if you “no-show” your appointment. If there is a 3rd occurrence you will be discharged from the practice.

Patient Control and Admission

For everyone’s protection all dogs must be on a leash in the reception area and while walking to and from the exam rooms. Small mammals (cats, rabbits, ferrets, birds) need to be in size appropriate cages. Do not allow your pet to bark at, lunge for, or otherwise antagonize our human or animal guests or staff. This can be dangerous and a distraction for all involved. Patients who are disruptive will be asked to wait outside for their appointment.

For the protection of all our patients, if your patient is presenting with symptoms of illness including coughing or sneezing, diarrhea, or other signs of contagion, please notify us of your arrival and wait outside to be directed to an examination room by our staff.   In additional all regular patients are required to be vaccinated and up to date for Rabies due to state and local ordinance.
